Storage
Allow your footwear to dry out
naturally in a dry closet, away from direct heat. To avoid hardening
the leather, do not force dry your shoes. Use shoe trees to keep the
leather from cracking and creasing permanently where the foot flexes.
Pure cedar trees are the best for their appealing fragrance and ability
to absorb moisture.
Cleaning & Polishing
On dry shoes, use a horsehair bristle brush to remove any dust or dirt.
Apply a high-quality leather cream or paste polish (do not use liquid
polishes) in a matching color and allow to dry. Brush shoes again to
desired luster with horsehair brush. Avoid using saddle soap or mink
oil on these fine leathers.
Clean sueded leathers
with a damp, soft cloth. When dry, buff lightly with a clean, bristle
brush or nubuck brush to restore the nap. Scuff marks and dirt may be
gently removed with a suede-cleaning eraser or pumice bar. |
